Sacha Fernandez graduated from McGill University in Montreal in 2017, with a B.A. degree in Psychology. She previously worked as a research assistant with Dr. Robert Whitley for the Social Psychiatry Research and Interest Group at the Douglas Hospital Research Center in Montreal. During this time, she worked on a study examining media portrayals of mental illness in major Canadian newspapers and television programs.  More recently, she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Sam Tsemberis at Pathways Institute of Housing First in Los Angeles. Sacha is currently working as an administrative specialist with Dr. Elizabeth Bromley on the UCLA-DMH Public Mental Health Partnership. In the future, she hopes to pursue a Masters in Social Work. Her interests include mental health awareness, stigma of mental illness, and alternative therapies.
