Skills for Listening and Engaging

January 11, 2023

Presented by Elizabeth Mackey, LMSW

The Skills for Listening and Engaging training (formerly titled Basic Counseling Skills) provides participants with essential knowledge around engaging with individuals who need support and are interested in making a positive change in their life. The training can apply to both clinical and non-clinical contexts. Based upon stages of change and motivational interviewing strategies, the learner will be able to articulate key components of these models and be able to apply them with those they serve. This training is appropriate for non-mental health trained professionals or mental health professionals who may need a refresh on tools of engagement and behavior change.
